Description
The Reserva 2017 is a magnificent, traditional field blend incorporating some 32 varietals from 100+ year old vines growing on extremely steep terraced slopes of schist. It too has been aged of 16 months, but in just 20% new French barrique. The alcohol is 14.5%. The Reserva displays an amazing purple briar fruit, and a yin-yang of power and finesse. It is such a no brainer!
See Robert Parker/Wine Advocate 95 point rating below. Should be $70 a bottle. NOW $64.95 or 4+/$59.95 a bottle (can be combined with the Vallado Touriga Nacional ’17 for best pricing)..
“…Sensually textured, it has plenty of power on the finish to go with its beautiful mid-palate finesse. It seems very sophisticated. Focus and precise, this looks like a great Reserva from Vallado. Plus considering the wave of pricey upper-level wines lately , it’s also a relative value point in the lineup. How will it age? Let’s start here – but be prepared to cellar it for a few years, at the least, to allow it to become more expressive….Drink 2022 to 2042.”
