Description
Smooth and elegant VS Armagnac from Baron de Sigognac.
Armagnacs from South West France can offer something a little rounder and fuller than similarly priced Cognacs and so Baron de Sigognac have displayed with their excellent entry level VS. Made with traditional Ugni Blanc grapes from the Bas Armagnac sub-region in the west of Armagnac and aged in oak barrels from the Tronçay forest for over three years this a fine and elegant brandy. Rich aromas of quince, fresh plums and vanilla lead onto a supple, rounded palate with a long fruity yet fresh finish.
Owned by the Guasch family and located in the Bas Armagnac region of Gascony, Domaine Baron Sigognac has been in existence since the 12th century. They produce spirits only and all of their production distilled into Armagnac and not wine. Run by father and son team who jointly look after viticulture, vinification and distillation duties, each vintage is independently aged and then back blended with other Armagnac years prior to release.
